When compared to the top-rated models this Black and Decker robot vacuum isn't as advanced in its object-avoidance capabilities, and its navigation score is lower. However, it has an ample dust bin that doesn't need regular emptying and has a lengthy battery life. It also has an option that allows you to schedule cleaning sessions, and then return to where it was last. This makes it easier for you to cover larger areas. This model is a great choice for pet owners, as it can avoid tangled fur and food particles.
In our tests, we discovered that the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra combined a LIDAR (light) sensor that can identify rooms and obstacles using a structured-light sensor that can identify objects as well as detect edges. The best for Carpet
If you have carpeting in your home, you should look for a robot vacuum with excellent pickup and good maneuverability scores on carpets and rug. Many models are capable of collecting dust from low-pile rugs. Some can be quite effective in cleaning up larger debris such as orzo pasta and screws made of metal. They aren't able to pick up small particles like an upright or canister, and could miss dirt that is close to baseboards or thresholds.
For homes with carpets, a 2-in-1 robot mop/vacuum is the best choice. You can exchange an empty bin for a moist mopping mat. The Roborock Q Revo, for instance, vacuums and a mops wet with circular pads that rotate at 200 rotations per minute. It detects and lifts the pads when it comes into contact with carpet to avoid wetting the floor, and you do not need to take them off or replace them after every use. The Q Revo also performs better than other robot vacuums/mops when it comes to the absence of obstacles and in getting close to rugs and thresholds.
Another option that is worth considering is the iRobot Roomba Combo i5, which performed very well in our tests and can be scheduled via the app to clean your home when you're away from home. It can also be set to only mop, and we liked its remarkable navigation on carpets and floors, as well as its ability to get over and up onto furniture. The Combo i5 also has a very long run time and excellent path planning for a device of this size.

Robot vacuums are a great choice for hardwood floors as they are able to maneuver around obstacles without damaging the floor's surface. They are excellent in removing dust and crumbs, but they struggle with pet hair or other debris. They also lack the suction power of a top-of-the-line upright or canister vacuum, which is why they're not the ideal option for rooms with carpets or upholstery that needs deep cleaning.
The best robots are two-in-one, which combine the power of a mop with a vacuum to complete the job in one step.
